Trump's foreign policy

It is important to keep an eye on the actions of the United States government as any small move they make impacts the whole world. Even though we're in a small country such as the Philippines, a small sneeze from their direction can send our islands hurtling towards economic collapse.

That's why the last few weeks of Trump's foreign activities seemed too funny and surreal...

First, Trump and his cabinet seems to be antagonizing the G7, the group of the seven most powerful countries in the world. The G7 used to be the G8 with Russia, true. Russia was kicked out by the other G7 countries in 2014 when they annexed Crimea, an act that many deemed hostile. I'm not really surprised Russia under Vladimir Putin was not begging to be let into the G7, but I'm surprised Trump seemed to be adamant about having them in the negotiating table.

The next summit was even more surprising, but in a more positive way. Trump and Kim Jong Un managed to actually meet and not send their Secret Service men and running bodyguards against each other in a gang battle. I do agree with the analysts who say that Kim Jong Un did not really give any clear concessions, but it is very clear that Trump gave a clear concession with agreeing to stop the military exercises with South Korea. That's a huge withdrawal of support that South Korea might need to really clarify.

Angering allies, aligning with previous enemies. Now, who does that remind me of?
