RE: Dems Kept Cheerleading Bush-Era Neocons; Now There’s One In The White House

in #politics7 years ago (edited)

John Bolton being a signatory to PNAC does not surprise me in the least. A man so singularly hawkish that even the Republicans refused to confirm him as USA’s Ambassador to the UN - hence Bush’s introduction of the “Recess Appointment”.

Bolton is there to start a war, it’s what he does. The war that Candidate Trump said he didn’t want? Candidates say lots of things, but when they arrive in Washington they soon realize the truth – Bankers don’t belong in prison and all wars are good, even those that aren’t.

A geopolitically uninformed Donald Trump bringing in Fox savvy John Bolton as his NSA is not a total surprise, despite the moustache, but the Democrat reaction to Bolton’s appointment is a reflection of exactly where we are today. Russia Russia Russia Russia? Give me a break. Bolton would start a war with himself if he could.

Elected Republicans and Democrats are now cut from the same cloth, and woven into that cloth is the desire for war. As empire sinks and they scavenge for the final remnants from the trough, the diversion of external conflict is no longer simply desirable, but silently imperative for both parties.
