One of the more disturbing videos of American Media I've ever seen 😱 Dozens of anchors reading the same script
This video that just appeared on Youtube highlights the extent of how controlled the American media is on television. I normally don't post much about politics, but I know generally what's going on with the media- and narrative warfare. Still, I did not realize things were quite as bad as this.
SCRIPTED MEDIA
This video below was posted on the /r/ethtrader subreddit and caught my attention. It doesn't have anything to do with cryptocurrency but is nonetheless very = interesting and scary to watch. It's a short compilation that showcases dozens of news anchors reading exactly the same script, highlighting the extent of how the narrative is being manipulated.It's apparently a script by the Sinclair media group, who owns all these stations. To me, coming from a Dutch and European point of view, I am very much disturbed by the extent of this. If you didn't think information warfare and controlling the narrative are real, then this video might change your mind.
It's the best and clearest example I've ever come across of media manipulation, hands down. Does anyone else find this as scary as I do?
I guess the answer is: Decentralize everything?
Not much to blog about with regards to crypto today, I'm afraid. I'm getting more and more the feeling that we may indeed see a $4-5K Bitcoin at some point. In which case I will be buying again. For the time being, I thought I'd post this thought-provoking video instead.

I heard about this last summer when Last Week Tonight did a segment about it. It is a bit scary how much influence this one company has, and how they choose to wield it.

Yep. Very scary! When I saw it, I thought: Wow I guess that means until this time all of their work was completely fabricated and now they decide to report truthfully?!! What a joke!
Anyone is programmable... whether by centralized or decentralized means. It's amazing how much power editors have in steering public opinion in the USA and elsewhere. There is a push now to increase regulation of all social media as well. For our protection of course...

Yeah I completely agree. But it's everywhere though! Sure Steemit feels 'safe' but most social media platforms are infiltrated by 'shills' of some kind of another. I'm sure for crypto the paid shills are active on Steemit just as they are on Reddit - so I've no doubt that for political purposes the same plays are being made.
I'm not sure it's possible to really really trust the other person on the other side unless you are able to somehow gauge their reputation to you personally: whether you personally trust them to tell the truth or not.
Perhaps this is why digital identities are going to play a large role in the future. When anonimity disappears on public forums, people suddenly become accountable and fake accounts become a thing of the past.
Ugh yeah I stopped watching the news years and years ago - the second that Obama won (and accepted!!) the Nobel prize for simply existing, then proceeded to drone bomb the crap out of people across the world, I started questioning EVERYTHING. That was the biggest wake up call for me that the news was blatantly lying to us... and I'm still shocked that so many people so blindly put their faith in them.

Yes there is a lot of things going on that don't make any sense when you investigate further.
What's confusing and strange to me is that most of these crazy Orwellian 1984-type stuff seems to be coming from the USA. I hardly ever hear similar stories about other western countries and it is making me wonder whether it's happening to the same extent everywhere and being underreported or hidden better, or whether something really really sinister is going on with the USA alone.
It's like everybody know something shady's going on but nobody can quite put the finger on what.
I agree to some degree - I lived in Canada for 10 years where I would frequently watch the news (both local and national) and frankly they're just spouting a lot of the same stuff. If it's not explicitly local or Canadian centric, it's like they pull from the same script in the USA.
While I've lived in France and Germany, I didn't watch the news there, so I can't speak for those countries. But it seems to me that the world watches the USA, not their own..... at least for many things.
Yeah I do wonder if it's because the USA in the spotlight. For comparison's sake, you never hear of the Dutch, but as it turns out the Netherlands is the country with the highest amount of phonetaps in the world (this small country of 18 million has more wiretaps going on than the USA at +/- 300 million). Edward Snowden came out and dubbed the Netherlands the 'surveillance kings of europe'.
...which is weird, considering the Netherlands is often used as an example of a western nation with it's affairs in order, friendly & tolerant government, ranking at the top of all kinds of indexes with regards to freedom, democracy, living conditions, and all that. Strange to think that this carebear nation would be into such mass surveillance. Also, you never hear of anything on the news about people being caught through surveillance. At least I don't.
oh wow interesting - I did not know that about NL! Either everyone's behaving because they know about "big brother", or offenses aren't being reported because the USA is more in the spotlight as you suggest... Or maybe the Dutch really are just that good. ;) Fascinating yet disturbing stuff.
Yeah it's not very known.. even in the Netherlands most people don't know it. I was surprised myself when I discovered it!
But I think the key thing is that it appears to be mostly that: surveillance. I think there's no kicking-in-doors and that kind of stuff going on. I do think the Dutch intelligence probably works closely together with the US and I've read several times when apparently some Dutch intelligence was key in aiding the US with regards to some important global issues. Maybe it's like we like to spy, but let the Americans do the actual dirty work?
Well, we do like to think of ourselves as the "world police"... ;)

This is sickening. The freedom of the press originally had an important role in the United States government. It was called "freedom of the press" to be a watchdog of government and report the truth. Now it is just a mouthpiece for a specific agenda. We are a young country that has grown past many injustices and mistakes. But I fear we are creating more of them as we move forward.
This is extremely dangerous to the TRUTH!
