I despise and boycott Amazon, here is why.
I have been doing online retail for 7 years now.Ebay is my number one marketplace to sell although I tried several others over the years. I had numerous conversations with buyers about Amazon, because I never understood why this marketplace is the number one choice for half of the American population when it comes to online shopping.
It's way more expensive, the same items from the same seller always cost more on Amazon, simply because the platform charges its sellers for more fees and they will surely pass those fees onto their buyers.
If you looking for good deals, you should always use Ebay.As for sellers, the site is way more complicated from registering to listing items with variations and on the top of it,you need to deal with the leeches (this is how I call the other sellers who use your listing to sell their items) who undercut your prices on your own listing and take business away from you.Nothing is more annoying than to create a beautiful listing, where taking your own images, photoshop them and then dealing with Amazon upload template (which is the stupidest, unnecessary complicated BS) is a time and nerve consuming process, only to benefit the leeches.
Of course,if you can invest money into branding, you don't need to worry about any of these problems, but why would you pay good amount of money for something, when somewhere else you don't need to?
Most of the time buyers say because they like to have their packages fast, using Prime membership. What they don't realize, they can get their items fast on Ebay too if they pay for expedited shipping. What do you think Prime is? It is a pre-paid expedited shipping service, where you pay $100 at the beginning of the year upfront for the same expedited shipping method you can get on Ebay, but on your own terms! And you might not even buy enough items over the year to use all the $100 you put in Amazon's pocket!Especially because any package over 1lb will be shipped expedited anyway,so Amazon doesn't even use your wasted $100 in most cases!
In my view,Prime is the biggest e-commerce scam ever. ( I know Prime has evolved and offer more services now,but people still losing money on this)
Another misconception is that a lot of people think Ebay is an online 'swap meet' for cheap knockoffs and used items. This could not be further from the truth.First of all both sites offer used items.Second, scammers try to sell knockoffs on both all the time, but if Ebay catches you, maybe because someone reported your store, they will ban you forever from their platform and Paypal will do the same. They are very strict about it and the buyer protection program works amazingly well for the buyers.
But nothing, nothing describes better why I do despise and boycott Amazon (I canceled all my accounts a while ago) than this video with Joe Rogan and Jimmy Dore.
I would love to hear your opinion,we can even debate if you have a different view and you prefer Amazon over Ebay, please let me know in the comment section below! Thank you for checking out my post, love you all!
As a seller I prefer the amazon platform and process of listing over eBays, as I can list much faster, although I haven't had experience with using the template you mentioned. However as a buyer I much prefer eBay, I feel with eBay it is a much more friendly and personal buying experience and I like the fact I can get a bargain if I choose to bid on auctions that are ending soon. Glad to see another fellow seller on here :)
You have the same feature on Ebay now, called "sell similar",where they automatically upload almost all the details for you from a current listing.
