Statistics aren't to be trusted, though, man. For example, in this thesis which was overseen by Daniel Whitaker (cited above) it states that:

Because experiencing intimate partner violence within one’s lifetime is so common, it is necessary to consider the adverse health outcomes stemming from such exposure.
Among the negative health outcomes stemming from IPV [(intimate partner violence)] are serious injuries, and even mortality. Though men and women experience similar rates of physical violence, women are more at risk for injury and death related to IPV.
Over 13% of women have experienced injury from IPV, as compared to 3.5% of men (Breiding et al., 2014).
The root of the problem is our individualistic, domination-oriented, hierarchical society and feminist movement is the most likely political route toward replacing domination with communication and hierarchy with egalitarianism.
