RE: Postcard from the edge of the storm
Sometimes I actually wonder what world I live in. I didn't know you didn't have water for 3 days. We had - you should've come to stay here for a few days. Af for junk status - also didn't have a clue. Zim really is the place to be right now!
Now the Meghan and Harry engagement - I found out about that yesterday. I sound like such a superficial person right now hey 😂
Lots of love. See you soon and good luck in Lusaka xx
Hey, that means that perhaps you're on a different water circuit from the rest of the northern suburbs (it was basically everywhere west of Edenvale and north of Illovo, as far as I know), or perhaps your complex has its own supply...or...I don't know. Anyway, filing that strategic info for next time the water goes out! And next time yours goes, give us a call.
Not sure I'd want to be in Zim just yet. Life is still going to be extremely difficult for Everyman and Everywoman for a long time still - it will take them years to rebuild that economy even if they do all the right things. Steps in the right direction are a good way to start. On junk status and all the other crazy stuff, Parliament TV is actually becoming quite entertaining. We have a new superhero in South Africa now, by the name of Natasha Mazzone. She is nothing short of awesome. Have a look at this: https://www.thesouthafrican.com/bring-it-on-natasha-mazzone-epic-speech/. Epic stuff! She said this after receiving death threats.
The Meghan and Harry engagement - hey, it's nice watching sweet people in love. I enjoyed their interview on BBC.
Lots of love back and thanks for the Lusaka wishes! xxx
