RE: The Collapse of Germany: Angela Merkel's Failure

Thank you for your continued efforts in spreading the knowledge of philosophy in a world so badly in need.

Health insurance is but another abrogation of moral agency to the 'experts' and 'authorities'. Overreliance on insurance has nearly destroyed our individual medical access, driving costs through the stratosphere.

Most doctors are sorely undereducated, and regulatory capture has long stifled innovation. We are mired in archaic methodologies that, far too often, result in continued debilitating illness and/or untimely death, and too often these mortal insults have the force of law. I saw your interview discussing the FDA, and know that you cannot be unaware of these things.

I was diagnosed with lymphoma and prostate cancer over six years ago. I was well aware of the inability, in a large percentage of cases, of the medical industry to successfully produce positive outcomes for these diagnoses. With no formal medical training, and only a month of intensive research, I was able to find a solution, and am alive today, without chemotherapy, radiation, or surgery. I was able to do all of this in six weeks, plus the month of research, for under $1000.

Personal responsibility goes further than knowing which 'experts' on which to rely, and which insurance company to allow to decide which treatments for which they will pay.

If I break my leg, I will go to a doctor, and pay with all the money I've saved by not giving it to the insurance companies.

This is one of the few areas that I find disagreement with you philosophically. I find that self sufficiency, pushed to it's limits, is a greater teacher than giving over responsibility to someone else who is overcharging us so we can be tortured and die anyway.
