In this article i wanted to put a simple thought experiment idea out there which may give readers a better perspective on immigration.

Our experiment starts with 10 people locked in a jail cell together.

Now lets say 10 of these people are all Chinese, for example.

They all speak Chinese, eat Chinese food, they like to do Chinese stuff whatever that may happen to be.

They are not going to speak Swahili are they? They are all going to speak Chinese.

So what if we remove one of these Chinese people, and replace them with say an Eskimo.

Now the Eskimo doesn't speak Chinese right?

So what will happen?

The Eskimo will be left out of conversation, he will be the odd one out and will therefore have a harder time communicating and interacting with the others.

If that Eskimo is stuck in the jail cell for 20 years, he will try very hard to learn to speak Chinese.

Next, lets replace one more Chinese person with another Eskimo, so we have 8 Chinese people and 2 Eskimos.

What will happen do you think?

Would perhaps the two Eskimos start to become friends, would they interact with each other better than they could with the 8 other Chinese?

Of course they would, you would have 8 Chinese on one side of the room and the 2 Eskimos would be on the other side of the room.

Not because they are racist or dislike the Chinese, but because they can communicate, interact and relate with each other in much more efficient ways.

Now the Eskimo has less incentive to learn Chinese, he is not forced too because their are other options, his new Eskimo friend.

Next.. lets remove some more Chinese people and make it 50/50 - 5 Chinese and 5 Eskimos.

What do you think would happen?

We will have a divide - the Eskimos would be on one side talking with each other, while the Chinese would be on the other side talking to each other.

The Chinese would eat Chinese food and do Chinese things, while the Eskimos would speak their language and eat their native food.

This isn't to say the two groups cant interact and be friendly towards each other, but they will have a much harder time talking and interacting due to the language barrier and other cultural differences.

There would be much less incentive or need for the Eskimo to learn Chinese now.

Using this analogy, i think it's evident to see that if we allow too much immigration into our countries too fast we will have a divide.

The data is there, diversity is NOT our strength - that's some garbage line from TV everyone repeats without actually thinking about it.

Now i fully support immigration.. i think variety is the spice of life and i have friends of all colors and creeds and welcome anyone from any nation if they are willing to adopt our values.

In fact i feel its inevitable with our global financial systems that one day the world will be one.. mixed into racial oblivion where only one race exists.. the human race.

All i am trying to point out here.. is that if we invite massive amounts of people to soon without any real plan for integration.. this will cause a massive divide thus creating massive social problems.

The immigrants will not learn our language or ways.. they will not be forced to integrate as they have in the past.
