Absolute lunacy! I mean, obviously the right to free speech implies the right to protest against free speech but why would THE PEOPLE ever want that? The only people who can ever gain anything from silencing the voices of the people are those who are high up in the hierarchy, it's in the exact same vain as disarming the people and centralising the weapons of war. Only those at the top will gain anything from this. What I don't understand is HOW! How did those at the top manage to brainwash the people into fighting against their own rights and to yearn for the disempowerment of themselves? At this point it feels like all one can really do is shake their head in disbelief and pray that the scales would be removed from the eyes of those who believe these lies, that they would see The Truth that The Truth would set them free.
All I can say is i agree and the brain washing is very strong... have you met anyone like this before?
I can't say I have personally met anybody who is this far gone, however I would say that the majority of people I speak to are beginning to follow down this path to some extent (whether knowingly or unknowingly, only God can know). How often do you try to have a real discussion about the state of the world and you just get told to stop because "it's too depressing" or because "it's offensive" to talk about such and such in an objective manner. Facts are now offensive to people! Imagine that! What makes it worse is that most of the time you can tell that the person you're talking to actually DOES want to have this discussion but they shut it down anyway in fear that somebody around them might hear what you're talking about and get offended. Isn't that what the right to free speech is? The right to disagree and have the discussion, the right to offend, the right to express your opinion no matter how seemingly crazy it maybe, that it can be debated in an open discourse in order that we may get closer to the truth. If we no longer have the right to argue, we are no longer free to seek the truth.
On a side note, I have definitely met people who are against free speech "that would be likely to offend others". I just don't know that I've ever met anybody who is quite this detached from reality, truth and logic.
