America the Great

America the great
Send your kids to school
So they can be part
Of the great firing squad
.
If they make their way
Through public school hallways
Without getting shot
They can dig themselves
Into a lifetime
Of indentured servitude
To a system
That fills its coffers
Off their naive and willing minds
Giving thousands they don’t have
Wishing on a star
For a job
That allows them
The great opportunity
To sit in a box
Under the great luxuries
Of fluorescence and ergonomics
Tippy tap typing their lives away
For a pittance
.
Held down in the shackles
Of what this great empire worships
Money
.
The big green
It’s the real god
This failed state of capitalism
Agent orange lording over us all
Oh but shouldn’t we be grateful
To live
In the greatest country
In the free world
Yes! Of course!
Heavy lies the self-proclaimed crown
.
Everyone else wants to be us
See us
Or so we’re told
The great lie of propaganda
We’ve been fed since our youth
And we all buy in
Out of fear
Yes, we all know
That money
Makes the world go round
.
There is intelligent design at play
Our great capitalist lords
Have set it up this way
Keep the sheeple down
Keep their pockets empty
So those with the most
Can just keep getting more
.
Watch the sheeple
Go along
Singing a poppy song
As they dig their own graves
All playing their part
In the great capitalist charade
Singing
Thank you sir
May I have another
.
Yes, on our sweet sad ashes
The hoarding lords will raise a toast
To the silly fools
Who went along with it all
And said
Thank you sir
May I have another
