The West Will Never Be Broken

On July 6, 2017 Donald Trump delivered a speech in Poland titled “The West Will Never Be Broken” (see bottom of post for link to full speech text). This speech is a huge departure from previous occupants of the White House.

In May 25, 2011 Barack Obama said in a speech before the British Parliament:

For both of our nations, living up to the ideals enshrined in [our] founding documents has always been a work in progress. The path has never been perfect. But through the struggles of slaves and immigrants, women and ethnic minorities, former colonies and persecuted religions, we have learned better than most that the longing for freedom and human dignity is not English or American or Western — it is universal, and it beats in every heart.

In George W. Bush’s initial State of The Union Address:

We also hear doubts that democracy is a realistic goal for the greater Middle East, where freedom is rare. Yet it is mistaken and condescending to assume that whole cultures and great religions are incompatible with liberty and self-government. I believe that God has planted in every human heart the desire to live in freedom. And even when that desire is crushed by tyranny for decades, it will rise again.

In the above instances each President does more than imply that Western Culture can be merged with any other and that there is some sort of equivocation with Western Values and other societies who don’t share Western Values.

This is the kind of thinking that gives warmth, comfort and motivation to the left. Our culture isn’t better than anybody else’s, in fact our culture has done more harm than good and we must do everything we must, damn the consequences, to repair the damage.

When Donald Trump goes to a foreign land and declares Western Culture and Society worth defending this makes liberals nuts because they are doing all they can do to tear down Western Culture and Society.

When you see buildings being renamed, statues being torn down and history books being sanitized, this is the left’s war on Western Culture. The left thought they had a clear path to steadily destroying Western Culture but Donald Trump got in the way by being elected President and make no mistake one of the reasons they hate him so much is his defense of traditional Western Values.

The left has many reasons to hate Donald Trump. Their perception that he is a racist, misogynist and every negative -ist that there is. Now they can hate him because he has pledged to defend our Western Culture and Society. I tip my hat to you, President Trump.
