The Covington Catholic extended videos provide valuable insight into the MSM's instinct to pitch its narrative at every opportunity, regardless of truth. The initial short video / images of the smirking teen were ambiguous and allowed the MSM to promote a narrative of aggressive-Trump-like young men acting badly and victimizing an elderly Native American Vietnam veteran. But their false narrative was exposed when the longer videos were disclosed. Nevertheless, some journalist kept repeating the lies long after the jig was up. It is no wonder that Huff Post and Buzzfeed are laying off staff. They have a dreadful discredited product. One has to wonder how many "journalists" feel perfectly comfortable making up facts (like the guy interviewing Mrs. Thatcher in the linked video)? Dan Rather ... Brian Williams ... Katie Couric ... Jason Blair ... Claas Relotius ... Stephen Glass ... those are some of the more famous ones who have been caught. Fewer and fewer people rely on the MSM. Plenty of credible alternatives.
