That this story is 8 months old makes it no less relevant to the current events in Syria. Excellent writing skill, @sarahabed. I feel for the plight of the Syrian people and have written about it, which may be where I initially saw your name pop up.
People need to get the proper context of the Syrian story, told by true Syrians. The culture is so rich and diverse, and the old architecture so amazing that the West needs great writers like yourself to fill them in on what the MSM is purposefully leaving out.

There's absolutely a need for this sort of information. Unfortunately it usually gets buried under a mountain of misinfornation by mainstream media.
