THE NEED FOR YOUTHS TO START LEADING IN DIFFERENT COUNTRIES
This is a clarion call to all Nigeria youths, this article is to ginger us and make us realise our duties towards the growth of our country Nigeria.
I have realised that youths are not well respected in this country and thus, those who lead us in this country only use us for their propaganda and after successful usage, they dump us and will keep deceiving us that
youths are the leaders of tomorrow.
They keep giving is the hope that will never come. They keep telling us that we are leaders of tomorrow and bet me; that tomorrow will never come not until we are ready to take the bull by its horn.
There is a saying by the Yorubas; an ethnic group in Nigeria that
omode ti o ba ma je asamu, lati kekere ni o ti n se enu samusamu.
They also say that
eyin ni o n di akuko.
The two proverbs mean just only one thing and that is:
the little ones of today are the leaders of tomorrow.
**Then what could we say is wrong with the political situation of this country?.
Why are the elderly ones not allowing we the youths to rule?
Why do they like dictating everything to us all the time?
Why are the youths not given the privilege to choose?
Why are we not allowed to take over?
What can we say is wrong with the political system of this country now compared to what it was before
Awolowo was born on the 6th of March 1909 and fought for the independence of Nigeria, he became a leader in the year 1954 to the year 1960
Ahmadu Bello of the Northern Nigeria region. Bello and Abubakar Tafawa Balewa were major figures in Northern Nigeria pre-independence politics and both men played major and important roles in negotiations which ensured the independence of our country Nigeria.
Most of the military governors who governed the states under the successive military regimes were under 30 years.
Under 30's were also not in short supply with
appointments - we have examples of MT Mbu who
became Nigeria's Foreign Affairs Minister at 23 and Pat Utomi who became a Federal Adviser at 27.
Is it that they don't trust us to rule?, or should we say, they are power drunk and will never want anyone to take the mantle of leadership
or is it the case that they believe we cannot do it?
Is it that they have tested us before and we failed?
Is it that we are irresponsible sets of youths?
Is it that we have disappointed them before?
Let us take a look at some of the other leaders of other countries who are still young and yet are ruling their territory:
1)Saleh Ali al-Sammad who was B
born on January 1, 1979 in the Sahar District. He became a leader at the age of 38 in a country called Yemen
2)Kim Jong Un born on the 8th of January 1983, in Poyoungyang, North Korea. He became a leader at the age of 34 in a Country called Republic of Korea.
And the last person I want to talk about is the man that took me by surprise when he got elected as the president of France.
3)Emmanuel Macron who was born on December 21, 1977 in Amiens in France. He became a president at the age of 39.
I believe the elders alone are not to be blamed for this situation, we youths have to blame ourselves too because:
We don't want to come out of our shell
We don't want to bring out the better version of us and thus become a better person
We behave like children still looking for the guidance of our parents all the time. Am not saying this is bad, but we have to understand that we need to become entrepreneurs and become matured in our thinking. There is nobody on mother earth who will do the thinking for you and if they do this for you, they destroy your lives.
This elderly ones have lived their lives to a stage where they need to retire, we need to take over and start ruling, I am not talking about using Force, am talking about availing ourselves the opportunity to lead and make our parents trust us to take the mantle of leadership.
I can do it and so can you, let no politician use you for their agenda to succeed in the forth coming election, be concerned about the well-being of this country and do the right thing.
We are young and we are agile
Together we are better and we can make Nigeria better.
Let us say yes to youth leadership
