I watched this last night and you make some good points. The issue is far murkier that everyone wants to make it. I agree with you that what Rosanne wrote seems to be more a product of crazy than racism. I kind of feel like the blackface thing is often meant to piss people off. If everyone gets offended by it, that is really just giving the "offender" what he or she wants.

Not that my opinion is worth that much but I always felt like the best way to reduce racism is to ignore the racists and let them burn themselves out like one would with a dumpster fire. Right now, society is doing the opposite. They stand around the flaming dumpster, pointing at it and screaming at it while they breath the rancid smoke. What is the result? Legit racism is more empowered than it has been in years and now we have a culture of censorship to pile on top of it.
