LIVE REPORT: The Downfall / Siege of ISIS Capital Raqqah

The Storm on the last ISIS city and Capital Raqqa has begun.
We will follow this historic event live and day by day with comments and analysis.

Initial Situation:
Kurdish YPG Units made together with US Special Forces an Airborne and naval landing operation near Taqbah( 55km west of Raqqa) threw the "Lake - Assad".
The main objective was to cut the M15 Highway supply line between Aleppo and Raqqa, and to be able secure the flanks of the battlefield.

After the sucsessful landing, the coalition troops were able to build a bridge-head to encircle the small nearby city of Taqbah and the Taqbah Military Airbase.
On the Eastern side the coalition troops crossed the Euphrat river and nearly closed the siege of Raqqa.
Until the main storm of Raqqah wich began to start on June the 4th 2017, US Special foces and Kurdish Militias liberated large areas around raqqa. In Raqqa still 200.000 civilians are held by ISIS as human shields.
