Thoughts of the future

I read alot of books, fiction mostly. And lately i been comparing the fiction worlds to our reality. in the past the main stories of the future. where star trek, the idea that there is a vast universe to be explored and we could be part of that. see new things and to have the freedom of that. the other storiy where the cyberpunk the idea that we go into a dark technological dystopia. For a while with internet and it's ever expanding knowledge . But sadly with the various things coming together the idea of a new crypto currency acchain coin or some such. That will digitize everything so it can be owned by one currency that is dystopian. that sounds very cyberpunk. the crackdown on freedom of speech in order to combat hatespeech that sounds like more dystopian. I think Google may show the example of how things will go. Corporations carving out fiefdoms of their own. areas of the world not ruled by the nation or police. But by securety guards of the corporation because it's their property their terrtoroy. their rules and laws. I may just sound conspiractorial here but bear this in mind. our present technology sounds very much the technology of star trek of the past. and now we are talking about artifical inelligence that is the new thing. will we get them? i think we will in five more years. But i doubt we get the asamov type of intelligences i think we are taking a step towards the world of cyberpunk. the idea that the digital realm will turn into layers of layers of internet. we got what three layers now? with clearnet at the bottom. we are likely to get more as groups go together to carve out their own realms on the internet where their rules exist.
