Closeted Conservatism is the New Gay - Why So Many Trump Supporters Are Afraid to 'Come Out'
Turning on the tv or reading any mainstream media today would have you believe that republicans stand no chance of winning in 2018 or 2020. The massive "blue wave" is incoming. So why have republicans won every single midterm election since Trump got into office? The answer is the silent majority of conservatives and middle of the road Trump supporters is growing, but staying silent.
As we learned through the leaks of DNC and Podesta emails in 2016, the vast majority of mainstream media not only leans left, but actively colludes with government officials to advance the democratic party. Many people, myself included, read the emails with disgust and disbelief. We felt disenfranchised and completely betrayed by what we assumed was at least a semi-fair primary election system. What was revealed to us turned many of us away from voting left for the first time.
Instead of admitting their faults and overhauling their party, the left seems to have doubled down. Terms like "white nationalist" "fascist" and "nazi" are thrown around without hesitation if someone is suspected of being a Trump supporter. People are removed from venues for wearing hats that say "Make America Great Again". This behavior has further alienated democrats who are angry at their party, and many of them are turning to Trump and conservatism.
The left, however, hasn't seemed to notice. Instead of reaching out to their disappointed supporters, they alienate anyone who refuses to join their name calling and occasional calls to violence.
Similarly to the way gay people are afraid of losing the support of their friends, families, and coworkers if they "come out", many recent converts to conservatism are terrified to voice their opinions publicly. What they will do, however, is vote. The 2018 elections may very well be overwhelmingly red, and the reason is that the left doesn't realize that their tactic of "publicly shame anyone who disagrees" is failing. People are quietly changing sides, and one can only hope that the democratic party will open their eyes and become the party that their supporters want.
I'm a Conservative who recently moved to a Liberal state. It's interesting to say the least. There are many reason for Conservatives to remain silent, Liberals can be very radical. Thats not Conservatives you see rioting and destroying things on TV. The amount of death threats to Trump supporters here is staggering! Announcing that you're Conservatives is like a career death sentence as well. That is just to name a few reasons. Anyhow, Conservatives in my area are rare and they don't just tell anyone.
What is meant by staying quiet? Please visit twitter #TrumpTrain or #MAGA hashtags.
You will see we are having a blast and are following the issues as we stay on a seek and destroy mission 24/7 for not only Democrats caught up in corruption, but RINOs who flipped on ObamaCare Repeal and now want the unconstitutional DACA saved.
As for myself, a non-White Trump supporter, I felt it necessary to "come out" - as non-White. Unfollowing and blocking Trump supporters doesn't mean we are not there. On the contrary, I can't stop gaining Trump supporters.
The Blue Wave should be named the Crime Wave.
