The palace of Culture and Science. PKiN. Poland.

Hello again there.

My second post will be about my surroundings. It is because I live in Warsaw I write toady about the most recognizable place here and certainly must visit place.

Yes, this is about Pałac Kultury i Nauki.

This building was build in 1951. It wasn’t the idea of current government. It was during the communism. It was built in three years by Soviet Union. From the website of this building we can learn that it was built on demand of Moscov. Despite the demands it has in many Polish feature because the architects want to Polish people enjoy it. But first it was supposed to be the copy one of “seven sisters”(it is 7 skyscrapers in Moscow designed in the style of socialist realism).

It is beautiful from outside, you can really see how big it is from this angle and also see what is outside from upper level. Scenery is really amazing and even if you look at photos I recommend to visit this place. The price is very low and experience is absolute worth it. ;)

But there isn’t only observation deck. In this building are also places like the museum (but we don’t know how much longer because there is no income from it), theatre (to be honest there are three of them) and cinema. There is also conference from for 3000 people and the headquarter of Collegium Caritas wich is non-state higher education institution.

In this month there was a fire in the basement of Palace of Culture and Science. It wasn’t anything serious but still it happen. :) Also some time ago there was made decision that the entire building should be cleaned but recent there was news that it’s too expensive.

In my opinion the best is by night. It is because durning the night it is lighted. Every night it is different so you should have place near by just only to see it.
