I myself played quite a bit of poker, and had to learn an additional lesson:

Learn to distinguish between signal (skill) and noise (luck). Winning a tournament does not mean that you are a winning player, neither does losing a tournament prove that you are a loser, but in the long run, you have to start seeing a signal, that signal is correct, regardless of whether you are having bad luck or good luck in short term.
