RE: REAL Poker Strategy For Novice Players From a Perennial Shark; What You Should Do Before You Ever Sit Down At A Table
I don´t understand:
For instance, let's say you hit the jackpot, you've got pocket Aces. You bet $20, the player to your left folds, the next player raises to $50, and by the time it's your bet again someone re-raised to $120 and someone else called. So you have 3 players calling behind you. You could just call the $120, and play it safe. But this isn't really playing it safe. Chances are someone has KK or QQ, someone has big slick suited (AK), and maybe the first person to raise had a middle pair. Chances are the middle pair will fold. But if you check, you are up against two unknown hands preflop, and your odds of winning are 73%. However, if you shove all in, and one of them folds, your odds go up to 85%.
You can´t check there when someone 4 bet to 120$..
Please just dont say u are making 10k in a night..dont give that impression. You will ony start making money in poker is you invest insane amount of hours and years learning.
No, if you read the ENTIRE post, I specifically said it takes a lot of time and patience, and that I ONCE made 10,000 in a night playing PLO. PLO is basically about luck, if you're playing 5-10 PLO and you buy in for 2,000, chances are you will be all in by the 2'nd hand. No one folds, it's not for beginners at all. That's why I said beginners should stick to Texas Hold 'Em. I make 1000-2000 on an average night playing 2-5 Hold 'Em, and on the occasion that I lose, it's in the same ballpark. I also only play a couple of times a week, and sometimes take a break for a month. And I meant to say if you called, not checked. I'm trying to help new players learn how not to lose, and hopefully win a little. I've been playing for awhile and know how to judge the table, so I don't necessarily always follow the advice I've given here. For instance, I said "Your bets should not be relative to your chip count", but if I'm at the right table, I will bully people mercilessly, if I have the biggest stack, and I sense they are playing with money they are afraid to lose. Those are the people I'm targeting here, and the reason i told them not to bring less than 10x max buy-in for their bankroll, and to never show fear.
Mr Fromwi, any professional poker player wouldn´t recommend to start a carreer in poker.
Enjoy you stay in Steemit.
Best regards
Thanks for pointing out my grammatical error by the way, that may have confused a newbie. I updated the post.
