New Pokemon Game - Sword and Shield
A while ago, it was revealed that the next major pokemon role play game from Nintendo would be on the Nintendo Switch and called Pokemon Sword and Shield.
Pokemon Sword and Shield
The last pokemon roleplay games that were released (aside from Let's Go Pikachu/Evee and Ultra Sun/Moon) was Pokemon Sun and Moon which took place the Hawaiian region, Alola. Now we're eager to see what's in store for generation eight.
Beginner Pokemon
The beginners for this region are sobble, scorbunny, and grookey.
Grookey seems to be a mischievous grass chimp, scorbunny is a hyper fire rabbit, and sobble is a shy water lizard.
Galar
The region it takes place in is the Galar region which is based off of Great Britain. The pokemon website gives this description of Galar: "Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield will be set in Galar, an expansive region with many environments—idyllic countryside, contemporary cities, thick forests, and craggy, snow-covered mountains. The people and Pokémon live together in this region, and they’ve worked together to develop the industries here."
This game reverts back to the usual pokemon goal of defeating all the gym leaders to later defeat the Elite Four and the Champion, rather than island challenges. This will also be the first main series pokemon game to be on the Nintendo Switch.
This is the appearance of the two choices for what your avatar will look like in the game:
Leaks and Rumors
There was also a leak that claimed that there would be "armored evolutions" on this game, but this has not been confirmed. Other leaks states that the legendary pokemons would be a metal snake and a wooden horse, although these are just rumors and not confirmed.
The game is set is be released in late 2019, in the meantime, fans will be on the edge of their seat waiting and scrolling through the leaks and rumors.
