Chaotic Chemistry
Quiet head
Loud heart
Come together
Worlds apart
Drifting dreamer
Matter of fact
When direct
Meets abstract
Fast feeling
Slow kiss
Brain off
Body bliss
Morning smile
Night drive
Knees weak
Never thrive
War of words
Make-up touch
Far too little
All too much
Steady angst
Fickle fade
Will not leave
Cannot stay
Screaming mind
Tacit tongue
Wistful ending
Just begun
Overt nature
Subtle soul
Strong halves
Broken whole

This poem was inspired by an amazing, yet frustrating excerpt from The Process of Writing a Love Letter, by @itinerantartist, whose muse's love language is words of affirmation:
My throat, a dam
Passing droplets while gushing waters attempt to overflow
My tongue, a straightjacket
Twisting arms and disorienting limbs
Struggling
Strangling
Suppressing

Interesting @pragmaticpassion, I think that in some ways our entries are kind of similar. I love how the juxtaposition of opposites in your poem becomes a thematic through line, emphasizing the often contradictory and confusing nature of personal relationships. "War of words/Make-up touch/Far too little/All too much".
I thought they were kinda similar as well. It is interesting, considering we chose the same prompt
right? Weird but cool :)
There is a profound beauty in this poem. The short lines bring out a much stronger effect of the dichotomy between the mind/spirit and heart. Well done :)
