Life & Death Haikus: OverConsumption (Original Poem)
Selfish gluttony
May God's Word, the sword, cut you
Bringing guts to knee...
How often are you going to be the one who takes the largest slices, who leaves no leftovers, who hides from others in order to enjoy more of something you're not willing to share? The stomach is naturally the size of our single fist on either hand, and although it may expand. It was not created for the sole purpose of seeing how far we can stretch its properties and how much food we can carelessly stuff down our throats. Take it easy and not only are you being selfish, possibly causing hunger to those around you while you overeat, but you're also steamrolling a path of self destruction as obesity and other health problems arise from all your selfishness.
