What if life is
a mystery?
One for us to solve
together-
you and me.

Yes,
we could search
for answers
in crowded places
filled with intoxicated teenagers.

We could go looking
in the comfort of
lovers' arms
or
we could search
in dark places
where troubles lurk.

We could ask false faces
with pretentious smiles
or
we could grow weary
and find rest in
the arms of self harm
or
in Death's charm.

But,
darling,
what if life is nothing
but an in-between,
a pass over
from here
into
eternity.
