Who I Am
that which continues to grow,
to create my reality
to allow my old self to overthrow,
these feelings
that have held me back
that have prevented me from dealing,
with what has risen to the surface
and impended my dreaming.
So many years of ignoring,
these thoughts buried deep,
but oh this sense of liberation
to let go and allow that side to sleep.
To feel my roots go deeper
to draw up more power each day,
the freedom in realizing
this new empowered me is here to stay.
Even in my exhaustion
I can tap into my source
and connect with this energy
and allow myself to reinforce,
that which is my right
to be proud of whom I am!
to hold my head up high
and say to all I don't give a damn!
for your opinions and disapproval
for how you think I should behave,
I have embraced myself
and I will not be enslaved.
