Poetry Slam Challenge #8 Challenge- My entry
If I ruled the world
I'd give it all back
For it is not in my nature to rule anything but my own spirit
And sometimes I cannot even manage to do that
If I ruled the world
There'd be a power vacuum created by my swift exit
Allowing for the human journey to be carried out, unfettered by a dictator, good or bad
A natural law where an experience can be uncoerced
If I ruled the world
You wouldn't have a philosopher king
You wouldn't have a force against you contorting your desires and corrupting your thoughts with preselected leadership
You wouldn't have a presence monitoring your soul
Or a false messiah looking down at your
existence
If I ruled the world, I wouldn't

"ifiruledtheworld" as a tag doesn't help get this out there much, and to have your poem show up in the poetryslamchallenge feed you want to tag it as such (don't worry this time, I'll make sure this entry doesn't get forgotten).
