BASTARD POVERTY, NOT A SUN OF AFRICA
source.
Dark soils coated with transcendent opulence,
It's sources dry not.
Resources given to the natives lucre,
Clouds above anoint the land with ever flowing oil;
The rain sugars our tongues,
Its wealth speaks with stable cadence.
Yet it migrates not,
Tamed by the willful occupants,
To be cloth alone with its riches.
Selfishly dwellings in the goodies meant for all,
The sweat and tears of the natives water the soil,
Yet the reward of the soil be seized from them.
The rich lands, with rag clothed children,
The rich soil with starving natives.
The young craves knowledge,
But they are told "they are wonderful just the way they are".
The youths and agile
Are referred to as the leaders of tomorrow,
While they roam the streets.
Time's ticking, its not waiting for me,
Neither is it waiting for us.
Make hay while the sun shine we say,
It is now and not when it has to be with a sunken eyes,
and backs bent with fallen hair.
The soil is rich.
The soil is wealthy.
Poverty has no place in the land.
For bountiful rewards,
We have to send her where she belong.
She has robbed us enough of all our inheritance.
Its time great minds send her where she belong.
Its high time we lived as real owners.
Poverty, Yes! She's a bastard.
It's time we raise up our flags in Africa, many don't find it easy but we need to make it easy, even if it's not for our generation but for the generation to come. I have always wanted to study outside my country, United States to be precise but why not my county? Yes! not my country because it's not conducive but now, it's time to work! we all need to make it a better place, As you can see in the poem above, the whole of Africa has been blessed by the Almighty, with all we have in possession, we ought not to suffer for a second but now it's the other way round. It's high time we begun to fight for the future of the generation to come cause it's our best priority at the moment! We are Africans! We are Blacks! We aren't evil! We are wise and strong but this battle needs us! We need to fight! Even to a man of peace, death is inevitable.
Africa is indeed a blessed continent. Blessed on every side with vast natural and human resources.
It's time to get to work, and effectively use these resources. Nobody is going to put them to use for use.
Poverty must become a of the past in this nation. This generation must rise and build so future generations can call us blessed.
Arise Africa!!!! '
