depression
These chains are constricting
me
growing ever tighter
and
I cannot breathe
these chains are
weighing down my spirit
now
unable to fly
I am weary and
cannot see how
to let them go
I am just
floating here
in the middle of
the sea
working
to keep my head
above the waves
chains grasped firmly
in my hands
pulling me down as
I struggle
to stay afloat
moonlight
shines upon me
cutting through the night
like a knife
breathing new life into
my soul
with just her smile
instantly
breaking the chains I
wrapped around
myself
