In the month of January, 1995, it is the year when I began to have a deep memories that I can still clearly remember until now. It is the year when I started my schooling days at a small primary school which was built and started since 1989.

The school name is " Ayo Primary School ", which still exist until today. This school consist of 5 rooms. 4 rooms for students, and another room for the teachers. During my days at the school, I started my formal learning not in my mother tongue language, nor in our national language, but in English. I started to pronounce alphabet , words and numbers in English. In primary school, I some how create a bit of history, that is since primary one until primary six, I behold to the number last when ever we have our school exam.

The sad thing is, as far as I remember, my parents never seem to have recognize my poor achievement . As to me, this achievement also mean nothing more than just a regular standard procedure in school, that mean I don't care and bother much to it, since I was growing in a hard way. It's a hard time during my primary school days. I was bullied at school, being called a sissy and a poor boy. During rainfall, we had to wake up and place bowl in the room and bath to prevent our bed from being wet. We were selling Beers, and sometime during exams customers made conflicts and cause noise making me not being able to read with an understanding. I saw school as a waste of time, and I turned to be a bully, steal other children's lunch boxes and my mother was a regular visitor at school, and you know what it means when they report a child with a bad behaviour to his or her parents hmmm she cries a lot.

Everyday I have to walk about an hour out to school, on a bad road, as early as 6.30 am in the morning, and return home around 2pm or 3pm in the afternoon. The funny things is, I never have my lunch box to school, although in the morning I'll only have a cup of coffee with and half bread . Shoes, I never dreamt of it not to talk of having, because my parents can only afford a simple rubber scandals and when the scandals torn apart, that mean I have to be bare footed to school but I always refused because it something of disgrace. Belt, it's really good to have one, but the reality I never have. The only belt that I know to tighten my school shorts is a plastic string. School bag, sadly I don't have the knowledge about it too. I always put my exercise books in a plastic bag, tug inside at the backside of my school green shirt and tied the end parts of my school shirt tightly, off I go.

That the reality of my primary school life. I don't regret it, because I now understand that I am always thankful for what I have and I valued it most. I learned a lot from this simple and hard
way of gaining a formal education. I will never blamed my parents for what I have experience, because I know that the best they can offer. I am grateful to them because they are the one to give me the chance to live in this beautiful world. creation of the Almighty God. I became good boy with the help of God, and l completed my matric last two years 2015, and now am at University of ilorin doing my degree.
I don't have money to pay for next section fees, I hope as God managed to changed me from being naughty and bully into a respectful young man and a responsible boy, I believe that I can win this money and help me with my educations and to eradicate poverty!

Beautiful words :) I was a school dropout so I can relate, never give up on what you think you're meant to be

School won't determine your success in life. You are doing better in life than some people who went to school.

You are right about what you say about school , but it's about working hard . I am doing better now and tomorrow I could have nothing again , so always get prepared for the worst
