River's Caress
Strolling mindlessly along river's edge
Thoughts rolling like an untrimmed hedge
No rhythm or rhyme
Simply nature's chaotic lines
Frogs speak enticing ears drum
Water silk-like rolling over stones
The drones of minds eye delight
Set free en route to Ocean's tidal sights
Breathing still more
Wind sips leaves and raindrops seep in soil's floor
Beds of flowers dance with air
Ants below dutiful without care
Somehow an unknowing knowing sees
All as work of art
No separation between
What's dying and what's growing.
Concepts arrange the mind
Non-existent in another paradigm.
In language I can try to find
Source and love and rest...
It's a beautiful place.
But then what? Back to the mind?
These kinds of words eventually consume
All life that dreams to blossom
In a vision not yet seen
Yet between now and there these words contain arrows
To a stream pointing...
Saying...
Just jump in...
To claim you haven't already is the ultimate sin.
Today I stop trying and let go of the bank.
