Anthology of Verse (Hard-copy) 12. #0746
--A light was born.
It lifted slowly the veil in the East,
spreading wings of coloured sky.
Until at last the very least
of all the stars went by.
And finally came the golden bar,
which to us is the very first star.
To sweep the constellations under
as if it came the night to plunder.
A prying light that seeks to enter
soaking up shadows like a blotter;
fingers of light that reach the living
touching everything in some way.
That receding night is never found giving
like the light that comes with day.
The light was dawn.
