The Conflict
Oscillating, 'Mind' and 'Heart';
Each on their own swings.
One swings mood,
The other swings emotion.
Mind says, "Fine"
Heart says, "Mine"
Mind says, "Friend"
Heart says, "I can't pretend"
The duel is on when you're around.
The strife is to cease the reach for your hand;
To tell you how much you are doted on.
"Well, doesn't he know?", says mind
While heart goes, "He needs to know!"
The swinging debate ends as they scuff;
Heart says, "So close!"
While mind says, "Not close enough"
