A glimpse into the poem collection of a great poet "Saqib Abbas"
Saqib Abbas a poet from Kashmir, lesser known to the world, and an author of more than 5000 poems.
Biography of this poet will be shared in some other post. For the time being let's see some of his poems.
The Wine Of Destiny
The strangest dreams
Are ones that come true
Like the being of you
And begin to become
unreal:
Their nature of the realm
Of transcendence
Their texture a finesse of
Delicate embroidery
Of life’s vital designs
When wakefulness
Begins to look like a dream –
Fermenting sweetly
Through significations of words
And worlds
Into
The wine of meaning
This wine etches upon the soul and is food
For all the hearts that are sincere and good
The Adventure
Beyond the last mountain
Where sturdiest horsemen shiver
We felt to have a break
And watch the sunrise
We built a rustic fire
Of captivated branches
The cold winds shook us-
Slowly the horses froze
The flame froze next
And we all became ice
Grapes
The garden produces,
A hundred grapes-
Moist but unsoaked
Almighty, they cry,
Make us fruit
Juiced with sweetness
Steeped in wellness
Mold in cherishment
Covered with couching
Of a beautiful impulse
Resolved with freshness
These bunches of grapes,
Fruit the garden
Garden the eyes-
And gaped mouths munch
Adorn the juices
Of unending surmise
Tutored to jewel blood
Marvel pared hopes
Arouse failed dreams
Startling black
Soothingly green
These three poems are from three different collections, which I will be posting in the coming days.
