The Music: A Poem
Once in a while, I share content created by my friends, with their permission. This is a poem written by my friend, Sarah.
Drinking too much
Not eating enough
Applying a happy tone
so thickly I sound like a
retail employee with no soul.
Content, anxious, numb, terrified, uneasy.
Again and again and again
like some song I can't find the pause button on
can't take it off repeat.
Some days it's a remix,
leaving out the content up beat pace of every day life.
But no matter how the tune changes,
nothing could ever change the voices and words of my loved ones
And I'll listen to that song every day if it means
I hear the words they say.

The song never ends and plays all the notes at the same time.
