An Infant Army is Born, Day 70 of the 100 Days of Poetry @d-pend and Monochrome Monday @old-guy-photos
An Infant Army is Born
a smashed bubble
over a watery view
spreads its pearlescent
sudsy sea foam
aqua-marine stained rosé
blackened ships
morbid metal, inert fiber glass
haunt and float, hovering
not-quite immersed
unseen, below
more liquid entities
settle, find a new reef
to call home
a charred hull is a microcosm
bivalves, barnacles, worms
the protoplasmic and the minuscule
for a time closed up, protected
membranes folded, shells sealed
one must stick her neck out
if she wishes to feed and procreate
plankton blooms, minerals dissolve
meld and bleed with the saline
the moon rises
the tide pulses
there is a release
the watery world is amniotic
an infant army is born
transparent and legion
swim little orphans
invade a new death perch
bring it to life again
Doubling up on this post. @old-guy-photos has said that Monochrome Monday need not be black and white shots and that we may play with any hue family. So today we are playing with the orange section of the spectrum. You might consider this shot duotone because of the black, but I consider the black more as an offset colour, a frame if you will have it. So this isn't black and white but black and orange. For those interested, this was the original shot. It was an amazing sunset and just about the full spectrum of colour was offered.

I think of it as some color and black be it white or orange, black is constant. I have to say i like it!
Thanks. Paul. Exploring other hues other than white can be fun:)
You put it great together by combining words with your strong emotions.
Excellent shot ;) Greetings my friend ;)
Thank you, Margaret:)

The fertility of sea water accommodates an infinity of microscopic creatures. I loved the graphic that the poem is made of. There is so much in those waters that I dare not remove :)
Thank you, zeleira:)
