Awakening in Unlikely Places

Sometimes I'm filled to the brim with
words and stories that overflow from
the pit of my soul in colorful noises and
your silence is appreciated as I weave and
sew my sentences into audible tapestries

Sometimes I have just enough to share
to give and to take, like breaking bread at
a table for two, your words intertwining with
mine like grapes crushed to make sweet or bitter
wine... I take a sip and after you take one too

Yet other times, I am as empty as the blank
pages of a freshly bound journal, fishing
for words in the Dead Sea of my mind and
counting stars in this black hole I've found in
my soul, as if my very words were being
stolen from me
one by one
my tapestry undone

Empty of words but filled with potential and
Potential is like a river bank and the river like
inspiration of fresh rushing water. Water that
is cleansing, constantly increasing and always awakening

Inspiration is a funny thing. It comes and goes and makes no excuse.
And it also comes from the unlikeliest of places

I know I have been MIA, it's not because I haven't had much to say... It's actually been an eventful couple of months from preparing and going through Hurricane Irma ( I was blessed to not have been hit directly) and making me a storm hunter of sorts... practically. To going to North Carolina for a wedding and inadvertently become the florist and the wedding coordinator. Also considered moving states.

but I just haven't had my way with my words...

A change of scenery is all it took. When this past weekend I went to New York and I saw sights like these:

Beautiful, isn't it?
The weather was lovely, the trip was amazing and I was just such a good tourist...
But you know, out of all this beautiful and extremely crowded places that we went to, the place where inspiration struck me was here:
