LINGERING: A short tragic themed poem dedicated to ladies who have been through thick and thin for love
LINGERING:
Her cursed curse
Was to love all his weaknesses, bloody as crimson red
His fabulously frail and feeble frames,
His heart, a mix of hate and love..
Millenniums ago
They'd walked out of Eden,
Naked, naming and trading numerous blames
And it was then she saw his heart
Shifting from mildness into a cold, concrete monument
And his, was not to forgive
But hold on tightly to his hurt and grudge
Hers was where they expected to find peace, a level playing ground
Where all her hurt mattered naught.
But though she loved,
She too hated his righteousness,
And forged a peace of her own,
Unappealing to the nudity of eyes..
For she left his life, loving, lingering, yet leavin

Hello pope1995
Your content is driving me crazy, bursting my brain like fire.... I can see your perfect use of biblical allusion.... The days of Adam and Eve...
Your use of simile... Transported me to the scene.. Meanwhile, grace to the ladies in the house.
Nicely written fellow... I love your work.
Hopping to do better
