Like the dark of the night,
Ebony-blessed thoughts
Umbrellaed my thinking.

My demons came alive
Whispering deathly tunes
Hoping I'll sing the chorus.

The pride of failure held my hands
And led me down the path
Of amnesia's rival.

And there I stood,
At the edge of Life
Waiting to fall asleep...

... to wake never again.
