I just wish you will look
I hope you can see me
I have been here all along
I will always be.

I thought it was love.
For the sweet names you called me had me dreaming again.
You gave me hope and my life seemed to have found purpose.
You rekindled the dying flame in my eyes
And now, you let me watch another take my place.
You made her feel as important as you made me.
My lips have grown numb in silence.

I needed you.
I felt at home where my soul had found mate
Our heart had intertwined, and our wishes, clung.
It looked so perfect, and I believed you.
I let my guard down and made you king.
I submitted my being to your will and let you rule over me.
But you lied.
You let me down and enslaved me.
You pushed me out and allowed me to burn in grief.
You shut the door to my home on me and handed the keys to a stranger.
You left me to suffer for my kindness.

I just wish you will look.
This time, I hope you don't see me.
I was here all along.
But I will never be, anymore.
