Low Road to Paradise

I am distracted by nothing,
at least that's what I say
when my swivel moves away from the target,
memories in a sea of snippets,
thoughts lost to time and recordings,
paths leading to high or low roads,
wondering if the other were best,
but stuck now going deeper and deeper,
wishing to see the sun through the clouds,
rock ceilings, the only light,
lost now,
wandering always,
knowing with each step to turn around,
walls tight prevent reversed motion,
time is chasing me,
forcing my hand to play
without any knowledge of the game,
ask for a break, receive none
