I DON'T FEEL AT HOME - A Poem
I live in a mansion
But I don’t feel at home
Even with the nice things
It doesn’t feel like home.
I feel unloved, unwanted, banished
In the place I call home
But out there in the streets I feel much at home
Where I see the smiles, the love and the acceptance.
It’s where I have found peace
And the freedom that I crave
It is where I am loved, accepted and understood
It’s not a mansion but it feels better than one.
So home is really nowhere
For it could be anywhere
Where we find the love and the acceptance that we seek
Or where we find the little happiness and the smiles that we miss.
