Quest Of A White Knight

An honourable brave and handsome warrior
Atop the rocky precipice he stands proudly
Unsheathing his sword holding it high above
Thunder and lightning rages about him loudly

Quest of the heart that commands his thoughts
A journey he must follow through yet dangerous
Without any hesitation or question he sets out
His fate of which could become quite perilous

Across great lands far distances he’ll traverse
To be gloriously reunited with his one true love
An evil King now possesses his beautiful maiden
Held prisoner against her will in a tower above

The King plans to have her hand in matrimony
Time is of the essence and he must act quickly
Great treachery and quagmire he will come upon
An ambush may await this knight unexpectedly

More than fit to qualify for his task at hand
He slays all that gets in the way of his path
Nothing can deter him from rescuing his love
So steadfast that he risks the evil King’s wrath

Charging courageously ahead on his white stead
Finally reaching the grey and ominous castle
The King dispatches his soldiers to capture him
Without giving up a fight he engages into battle

Throwing him into the castle prison down below
His maiden heard of his capture and became faint
She daringly slips out past the guards to see him
Their doomed situation couldn’t be less quaint

The evil King ruled at dawn he faces execution
He spoke softly as she quivers for his embrace
“You are my Queen and I bow down before you”
As tears fall down his ladylove’s beautiful face

A brave Knight imprisoned awaiting execution
At early dawn others will soon meet their fates
People of the land were gathering in the court
Just as a carriage pulled up at the castle gates

The Knight half expecting it may come to this
The evil King’s henchman a burly executioner
A large menacing man hooded with a big axe
Waits at the chopping block for his next prisoner

The Knight’s comrades had overtaken a carriage
Under the guise of merchant suppliers to the King
They come to rescue the Knight and his ladylove
After hearing of his capture fearlessly fighting

Wasting no time they infiltrated the castle
Taking the place of guards rescuing the maiden
Safely tucked in the carriage bidding her leave
They then daringly set out on their next mission

Creating a distraction for the surrounding guards
Sending arrows into the back of the executioner
They strategically stormed in saving the White Knight
Then galloping away beyond the castle barriers!

A beautiful summer’s eve with starry night skies
Moonlight glows sparkling across the water’s edge
The White Knight and his Ladylove passionately embrace
Forever to one another everlasting love they both pledge
