Why I write?

Endless day
endless night
Will I ever
do what's right

Will I ever
know wrong
from right

I don't know
these are words
that I say every day
to keep from catching the disease

To keep from falling
on my knees

I say
I know it's bad
but in the end
I seek no validation from you
I only write to write
and say what's true

It's just my way
it's just my song
it doesn't matter
if I'm wrong

I do it
not to please
it's the only way
I know to breathe
