Failed Love
Failed love, a bitter taste,
A heart left broken, in its wake,
Promises made, but never kept,
A love that died, before it leapt.
The words once spoken, full of hope,
Now echo in an endless slope,
Their meaning lost, in a sea of pain,
A love that's gone, it can't remain.
The dreams we had, so bright and true,
Now fade away, like morning dew,
A love once strong, now torn apart,
Left with only memories, and a broken heart.
Yet through the pain, we find a way,
To move ahead, another day,
And though the road is long and steep,
We find a way to rise, and leap.
For failed love may break us down,
But it cannot keep us on the ground,
We rise again, and find a new,
A love that's strong, and pure and true.
So though we mourn the love we lost,
We know that love will come at any cost,
For failed love may hurt us so,
But in the end, we learn and grow.
