Poem // The Show
Welcome to the famous show of them all
Where the crowd is the host, and creation is null
The screen affects what the mirror reflects
Or is it just you looking at me
Tonight's episode, oh what a treat
A fresh baked nothing for everyone to eat
But don't you go nowhere right now
A quick commercial
Your imprisonment I'll allow
They're looking straight at you as you're drifting away
Nothing will stay, just a memory
I'm stuck here with these empty clay dolls
Immediate satisfaction
Creates nothing but misery
We're back from commercials
Lets start the show
Our first guest tonight is Humility herself
True, she was gone for quite some time,
So tell me Humy,
Are you lacking in health?
Forget that honey, let the judges decide
A red shiny fail mark at society's pride
Ip next is our popular friend
You all know him - but too shameful to suspend
For it is Stupidity, and she has her charm on us all
So maybe this is an inevitable fall
They're looking straight at you as you're drifting away
Nothing exists, just a memory
I'm stuck here with bits of clay in my hand
We should have changed it all
But we're confined in slavery
Our time is up, the show's almost over
Be sure to catch us next time as reality get's sober
Or is it me who's wrong and stuck in the past
Things used to be better
But bliss never lasts.
Wrote this a long long time ago, when I was fairly little. Also, English is not my first language, so bear with me here. ;)
