Steadfast Love : LK#1

Listen close to what I'm saying, I speak from my heart.
I'm just a 24 year old man making art
on a mattress in a room that I rent, don't own,
and to be honest, I don't have a place to call my home.

Both my parents are still living and their parents too,
but all that means is that one day we will all be blue.
Over all the years I've come to see and learned that we
are put exactly where we are by God Almighty.

I think God put us exactly where we are...

but I don't have Levi jeans and I don't play guitar,
and I don't drive an old fast car that can take us far.
I'm just a bible reading guy in a messed up city
with country dreams, steadfast love and a heart that's beating.

I've been smoking, I've been drinking, I've been living wild,
but Jesus found me, called my name and now I'm reconciled.
I've battled demons in my past and I know them well,
but Jesus saved me from eternity in burning hell.
