A Sinful Heart: A Poem of Repentance

I came to Your throne broken hearted and weary
I thought living my life is easy.
How I felt shame when I represented myself unto You.
You hugged me and said "It's not about you."

I thought You will be angry when You see me.
My body is full of dirt, my heart is flooded with doubts and sadness.
My spirit is drowned by sins, my mouth is full of deceit.
As I kneel down to You, trembling and crying for repentance

I see You smile instead of a face of anger.

You took my heart and assembled it.
Oh, what a fresh refinement.
You took me by the arm and embraced me.
I will speak this for a testimony.

I feel comfort in Your presence.
I want to be in Your arms, forever.
I feel joy when You are by my side.
My soul is recovering inside.

You remember my sins no more.
You said You will love me forevermore.
My heart was stable and burning for Your love.
Thank You for making me complete again.

I came to Your throne broken hearted and weary.
This is the millionth time I came to Thee.
I was confused why I see You smile.
Aren't You tired of seeing me every once in a while?

Broken hearted, dirty, doubtful, full of sins
Aren't You tired of making me clean?
Again and again You assembled my heart
You forgave my sins and cleansed me.

You gave me the answer of my question.
"I came here for the sick, not for the healthy."
