MOTHERHOOD

Single mother what a valuable jewel.
Precious than gold and silver.
Now my pen lacks ink.
Don't mind my attitude caused by pain.
She acts as a father and also a mother.

A world without no adviser.
Talkless of a counselor.
No one to call daddy.
Thinking of how her child will be called blessed.
Looking pitiful yet so wonderful.
Restless but fearless.

Facing difficulties and challenges of life.
Looking for someone to depend on.
Unknowing to her that we can only rest on God.
Agitating for help where there's no one.
Pretending to be OK when all seems to be dark.

Hmmm what a world we lived in!
Single mothers are to be praised.
Family and friends promise heaven and earth.
Promises by individuals that don't pass the night.
Pretending to be OK when all seems to be dark.

Drenched by rain of pain from head to toe.
Hustling to make things easy for dear child.
Looking hopeless about her situation.
Seeing life as a battle ground.
All to build survival.

Sometimes her heart is weary.
Thinking how to.
Always mocked by the owners.
Delaying her pleasure, yet satisfied with my smile.
Brooding that life will not end this way.

When things turn around.
She begins to eat from the garden of labour.
Some will be lost in envy.
But never cared about the story.
The stories of pain that turned to gain.
