The Mushroom Effect
A dancing cloud of irradiated orange
Shoots into the sky
A convulsion shakes the Earth
And a million hapless souls cry
In an instant I am completely cooked
No skin, or meat left for dinner
I let out a disheartening croak
But fall dead the next minute
Like a paper doll, I crumple down
My shadow is left behind
Forever now it hugs the ground
My charred bones by it's side
i love the poem
I read this three times. The metaphors and imagery paint a daunting picture of war and violence seen clearly within so few lines, is amazing. Following.
